Ayurveda relies on 20 gunas, or qualities, to describe states of being in everything around us, including ourselves. By understanding and identifying the gunas, one can work to balance the affected quality by introducing the opposite quality of a guna. A golden rule of Ayurveda is: Like increases like, and opposites balance. Observing the qualities around us allows us to evaluate our environment and identify what we could use more of and what we can use less of.
The three doshas —Vata, Pitta, and Kapha —are all influenced by the gunas. Applying the principle of opposites to bring ourselves back to a state of balance and maintain a Sattvic Strong self.
Work with Deborah to identify ways to apply the qualities of gunas in your life. This includes food choices, movement, and lifestyle habits, to cultivate and craft a way to stay Sattva Strong.
